Sign for Milk

So quite a while back (funny to say that when referring to Logan's life) I started teaching him sign language - simple things like milk, eat and more. When I saw that I wasn't really getting anywhere, I put it on hold. Then I saw my friend Kathy's daughter sign for milk and eat when she was thirsty and hungry. She is 3.5 months older than Logan - so I thought if I just perservere, perhaps he'll get it. I've heard that children can communicate earlier (than talking) by telling you what they want with sign language. It eases the frustration of the child and parent more when they both can tell and understand the other.

So I started practicing milk, eat and more at each meal...there are times I would forget, but I tried. I would show him his milk in the bottle, say milk and do the sign - several times. After about another month or two....last week, he open and closed his hand (like waving hi except with his hand turned sideways). His milk was just out of reach and as soon as I gave it to him he took a big drink. (Sometimes when it is out of his reach and I give it to him he pushes it away, so it was cool to know that that is what he wanted.) The next day he was in his seat and as I was making his bottle, he did the sign. Yay! It looks like he actually has 'milk' down. He doesn't do it all the time, but as long as we're making progress, I will keep on going.

When we were at the library for storytime his friend Maddie did the sign for milk. Kathy said oh it looks like she wants her milk. The teacher was so excited for Maddie - as she has been teaching us a new sign each week in class and was glad to see that some of the babies were picking up on it (although Kathy had been working with Maddie prior to the class). I was commenting on how great it was that Maddie did the sign and the teacher said well did you just see what your son did? Apparently when Kathy said the word 'milk', he did the sign for it. She was amazed at this as well - since he has voice recognition to the sign. I too was amazed as I hadn't seen that part of it, nor knew that the voice recognition to the word was a big step. Yay for Logan!!

Now I need to learn some other signs and get to work on those. Lately we have been working on (still eat and more), ball, book and water. It will be really cool if he does pick up on it.

A little tantrum

Lately Logan has taken to having small tantrums. If I remove him from a place he shouln't be (i.e. the dog's water bowl, the laundry room which he likes to play with the knobs on the hot water heater or hit the furnace cover during the 1-2 minutes that I am throwing in the laundry) he tends to throw himself on the floor and kick and cry...or at least try to cry. It is not all the time, but mostly when he is tired.

Today as he was lightly thrashing on the floor as John and I were laughing at his behavior, I realized it was 8:30, not 7:30 - no wonder! The poor kid was way past his bedtime....I'd be cranky too. Tonight was a bath night though - since he was already a night 'overdue', I didn't want to forgo it - mainly his hair needs it...it is super long. So we started our ritual.

John was drying him off with the towel, but said that the towel was too small, so we diapered him and he decided to run Logan around to air dry him. It was hilarious and Logan laughed the whole time! John walks very fast and holds both of Logan's hands...Logan moves his legs as if he is running. When it came time to put his pajamas on though...he was none too happy! He wiggled and screamed (in a sort of deep voice) and tried to get away. It was quite humorous. As soon as we finished, he immediately grabbed for John's hands to take him running again. They did this a couple of times, but before pj's, Logan would run into his room where I was sitting. After the pajama 'episode' he would run around, but make John turn him around before he got to his bedroom door....where "Mom the fun ruiner was sitting". :) I had John then read him a story before bed instead of me tonight (we do alternate), so I wouln't be ruining his fun again. :)

Oh too cute....for now....

Belly Shot - 21 Weeks

This was taken late tonight...so pardon the hairdo and look of tired - although I tried to be as peppy as possible!

Walking Update

We have been practicing walking ever since Tuesday when Logan took his first steps. Each day he seems to get better, but still does quite a bit of 'walking to a fall'. Today he did really well. We were practicing walking barefoot (this is supposedly better than with shoes, but at fist the shoes seem to stabilize him a bit more).

Logan took an average of 5-6 steps between John and I and they were almost all 'steady' steps. The last step always seems to be a fall into one of us, but he did great. At one point he even walked from me to his toy, which he had to turn a little to the left and he was steady the 5 steps until he got there. Then from his horse, I steadied him and he walked TEN steps to me - all very steady. In some of his other stretches he would even stop once or twice and stand for a second then keep going. He is doing so great!!! I bet now we'll be able to catch it on video.

We've also been praticing just standing. We stack up his toy cups and stand him in front of them, then let go. John holds the cups and Logan takes them off one by one...so a good 10 second stand. He even corrects his balance if he's starting to lean.

Go Logan Go!

Apple Picking

Thursday, my friend Kathy and I took Logan and Maddie apple picking with a couple other Moms from our mom group. It was over an hour away, but so much fun!

We picked some apples for baking and some for eating. The trees were nice and low so Logan and Maddie could really help out. Once Maddie had 2 apples in her hand though she just frolicked along. Logan was happy sitting and watching Maddie. :) We showed them how to pick apples and they did their best. They both enjoyed tossing the apples in the bag. After a while Logan just enjoyed throwing the apples.

We finished picking apples and taking a ton of pictures...and had a picnic. After that we fed some goats and sheep at their petting zoo.

Then we let the kids play, play, play...this place had little houses and wooden/plastic trucks, trains and slides for kids to climb on. It seemed that as soon as they started playing most of the other kids that were there had to leave...perfect - so Logan and Maddie had the play area to themselves! We wandered over to feed the animals again and play on some benches - oh they are just so cute!

We swung by the giftshop on the way out for some of the best Apple Cider Donuts ever! So yum! We all had such a great time!

Baby Boy has a Name

Baby Boy Battermann #2 will no longer be referred to as such. His name will 'most likely' be CARTER. The middle name is still under construction - we are deciding between 2 names (both family ties). We say 'most likely' as it is the front runner name. Granted, there really isn't a strong 2nd choice, but we will keep our options open. However, that being said, we said the same thing about Logan and we stuck with it because it grew on us like crazy!

Not sure where the name Carter definitely came from....I've heard it mentioned a couple times before and for some reason when we heard it was a boy that was the first name that came to mind. John initially turned it down as between some friends we know a Connor, Casey and Carson. So John thought it would be confusing and he would call our son a conglomeration of names...which admittedly he has done just once or twice (Carston) - but now I believe he has it down.

Carter started kicking me a lot more when he had a name. I think he knew it bothered me for him to be referred to as 'Baby Boy'. In fact, Carter is kicking me now - I just LOVE this feeling. :)

So there you have it...Logan and Carter. I love it!

First Steps

Oh goodness - today Logan took his first steps! We were at Baby Storytime at our local library, as we usually are most weeks. The past several weeks Logan has been really eager to walk while holding our hands instead of crawl. He still would crawl a bunch...and turbo-crawl sometimes. But if we are around and set him down it is hard to get him to sit and not cry as he wants us to hold his hand while he walks.

I had put Logan in some new shoes (super cute by the by) and we attended storytime. We sang songs and read stories as usual with our group of about 10 other moms/babies. Logan left my lap a couple times to sit in the middle of the circle and ham it up (every other baby except for one is a girl...so I tend to think he is showing off for the lady-babies). ;)

Afterwards the 'teacher' leaves the room right after she dumps 2 buckets of toys for the kids to pay with for about 15-20 minutes. We always stay to play. Logan was standing near the door when the teacher left. I held him in my arms while she left - then I let go and he took ONE step towards the door. I squealed in excitement and exclaimed to all the other moms 'Oh my gosh - he just took his first step!'. They all clapped and cheered and Logan continued chewing on his ball at the door...at which I grabbed him and hugged and kissed him and told him how proud I was of him. He probably had no clue what he had just done. My good friend Kathy and her daughter Maddie also attend...so Kathy came over to us and held up Logan while I scooted back. He took TWO steps to me!!!! Ah - it was like all of a sudden he would not only allow us to let go of him, but he would stay standing. Oh so exciting! Then while some of the other moms were talking, I decided to try again....and he took FOUR steps towards me! Again, I showered him with love and decided to let him play.

We called John and the grandmas and alerted other family members of the exciting news via email...they were all very excited for him! Later in the night when John got home we showed him. It took Logan several tries to warm up...he would do one or two steps, but moreso falling into one of us. Eventually he took 4 steady steps. So exciting!

So yes, at 10.5 months, our little guy has taken his first steps!

A couple quick updates

Logan cut another tooth!!!! When looking at him it is on the top left (next to his front tooth). So he now has 6 - 3 on top, 3 on the bottom....but on opposite sides. Hopefully the other 2 come in soon as well. :)

Logan plays Chase. Uncle Andy plays a game with his dog by chasing him around my in-laws island in their kitchen. Logan caught on and started crawling around chasing Uncle Andy - it was too cute! A few hours later when Andy was outside, Logan peered around the island thinking Uncle Andy was going to be there waiting for him!

Downtown

Yesterday, Logan and I joined up with our friends Kathy and Maddie and we went downtown - what a beautiful day we had! We visited Buckingham fountain, had a picnic at Millenium Park, walked around the famous 'Bean' and visited the library - it was great fun! Here are some pics:

Logan and Maddie in their strollers mezmorized by the fountain

I love how both their arms are outstretched as if to say 'Look at that' or 'Let me go jump in'

At 'The Bean' in Millenium Park...neither of them were 'that' fascinated to see themselves in the shiny object, however it was very sunny so it may have hurt to look up.

For those of you looking for a belly shot...here you go! My reflection in 'The Bean'

As a walking helper for Logan, I realized that the basked it his level, so he helps me push the stroller - it is too cute!

It was so cute, every so often, Logan would flop onto his belly and kick his legs up and just stare out onto the grassy area. Then he'd get up and giggle about it - he loved the picnic!

Towards the end of the picnic, Logan engaged Maddie into a sword fight - he thought it was hilarious...Maddie probably thought - whatever you 'boy'!

Updates on my Boys

Logan: We practice walking soooo much. He especially loves to walk outside on our driveway/sidewalk or in the backyard (however the feeling of the grass sometimes slows him up). When we walk out in front, we've learned that Buddy needs to come with us. Otherwise, he barks (in a sad, pathetic sort of way) at the front door or window because he thinks we are going on a long, amazing walk without him. I, of course, can ignore this. Logan, of course, cannot. As soon as Buddy barks, Logan whips his head around and sometimes even tries to turn around so we can go get him. If he doesn't turn around, he does stand still with his head craned towards Buddy until we get him to take 2 more steps, then the process starts all over again with a sad, bark. So today I brought Buddy out on a leash and he did very well - walking at a snails pace (compared to the brisk walk we usually go on). But it was important that Buddy stayed in front of us (usually he has to be at my side) as he was kind of motivation for Logan to walk. We really feel that Logan holds onto our finger as mere decoration - half the time I forget that he is using me to help him walk. I even gave him my weak pinky finger and he did great. Just let go, Logan!

In other Logan news, he goes down the stairs very well...although now that he knows how, he uses it as a game and also stops along the stairs to investigate a scuff mark or the baseboards. As I stand at the bottom and coax him along, he continues to go down one stair, then up a stair.

We had our first cry out in public (more than just a whine). It was in Target this afternoon doing some grocery shopping. I have a cotton cart protector from my Aunt that I use. {I almost always use it when he's in a cart, but last week didn't twice...and realized why it is such a good thing - Logan's mouth was on the bars...ew. Now he has a cold - gee, I wonder why.} Anyway, with the cart protector he can't see the bars of the cart and he started hitting his mouth against it lightly. Then he'd realize it hurts and look up at me, scrunch his nose and start to cry. So I'd tell him not to do that and explained there is a hard, metal bar there. But, oh, does he listen? Nah! He did it a couple more times and the last time it hurt quite a bit and he burst out crying. I kissed him and rubbed his head and he calmed down - but he did let out quite a yell. Luckily it was not very busy and there was only one other lady in the store who heard the whole thing and smiled at me. I then gave him toy keys to play with. After playing with them, he started dropping them like a game. So I took them and played with them while I shopped for an aisle and he reached for them as to say he wanted them. Sure, I gave them back. He immediately started reaching down where his foot goes through to drop them - he looked at me - I said in a calm, sing song voice, don't you drop them (several times). An older lady walks around the corner and he looks at her and smiles pretty big as if to say 'look I'm teasing my Mom'. 'Logan, don't you drop those keys'. And surprisingly he didn't. He pulled his hand back and kind of laughed. An aisle later, yes he dropped the keys so they went in time-out, which he didn't care. I think he was done playing with them. It was pretty funny, nonetheless. (This picture was right after he cried from hitting his head on the cart (yes, I am that Mom that takes a picture in the store)...then I gave him the keys.)

He is just testing us all the time. Between going up the stairs when he is not supposed to, playing with the dog water dish, which he's not supposed to or any other time we tell him 'no thank you' - he is just a pickle! Sometimes when we tell him no thank you, he throws his hands on the floor and sobs or even throws his head down too. Unfortunately this backfires on him as it makes us laugh because he's being so dramatic. But, man, we love it all. Our little boy is really showing his personality.

The Baby: Baby Boy still does not have a name. I really don't like not having a name as we'd like to start referring to his name while he's still in the womb. Not that it makes a difference much to him, but we like it. There are a couple that we are allowing to stay on the table and there are several that we immediately veto...so at least we are making progress. We will hopefully be able to announce the name before he's born!

Tonight the baby (see this is where a name would come in handy) has been the most active - ever. I have felt soooo many kicks tonight. I didn't think they were all that powerful, however I not only saw my belly move when he kicked, but I felt it too. Naturally when John came over to try, the baby did not perform. We'll give him another few days. :) I love feeling him kick and move around.

The are the updates on my 2 boys! The other two John and Buddy are also doing well. :)

It's another BOY!!!!!!!!

Oh we are all thrilled to tiny little pieces!!!! A little boy is hanging out in my belly! :)

The ultrasound was today at 9am....John and I got there early as we were both really excited. We had the same ultrasound tech as with Logan - and she recognized us....since it was not too long ago that we were there! Here is a pic of Logan getting so excited to see his little brother on the screen!

She put the doppler on my belly and there was the baby - as cute as can be. :) I immediately said, oh, is that a boy?? She told me that she wasn't quite there yet (I swore I saw something in-between his legs). So she moved right on down and said, well yes, it is in fact a boy! She said it is as if he is sitting on a toilet seat - oh yes, there was no mistakening that this baby was in fact a boy. It seems that my boys have no problem showing off their stuff - let's hope this doesn't continue to later in life! :)

She then moved on to checking all the truly important things...his heart, lungs, all extremeties. She measured my placenta and all....yadeyadeya. While she was checking the important things, John, Logan and I all watched (well, let's be honest, Logan was a little wiggly) our new baby boy wave to us, kick around, open his mouth (this move alone actually made me tear up because he was just so darn cute - like he was smiling), and it also looked like he had his hand to his cheek....or may have been picking his nose - eewww! Haha....he made us laugh already! I love ultrasounds.

My appointment with the doctor was supposed to be about 25 minutes later after we were done - I told John to go on to work as he had some meetings and such to go to. I ended up seeing the doctor about an hour later - geez! (Turns out he was late to work that day, so all his appointments were a bit delayed.) So there I was in a little room with all kinds of breakables (machines and stuff) with a little boy who wants to walk everywhere...and me that has to pee yet again since I had to drink so much darn liquid for the ultrasound! Ugh - I was growing impatient. All in all, Logan did great. He crawled on me while the doctor was talking, but he wasn't toonwhiny so that was good.

The doctor said that everything with the baby looked fine. There was just one thing...my heart dropped. I apparently have placenta previa. Some of you may already know what that is - I had heard of it, but really had no clue to what it really was. Apparently my placenta is lower than normal. This can happen with women who have had c-sections before, although some people get it because of other reasons...or really no reason at all. Anyway, the placenta is essentially blocking part or all of the cervix - meaning it can be impossible to deliver vaginally. This news was fine to me as the now 'required' c-section was what we were planning on anyways. I was also told that the placenta could move out of the way and not be a problem.

He used this analogy: Imagine a line on a balloon - the line being the placenta; the balloon being my uterus - as the balloon/uterus expands as the baby grows, the line/placenta can move up closer to where it should be. Okay, good. I will have another ultrasound at 28 weeks to check on the placement. In the meantime, I have to take another iron pill supplement (I already take one on top of my prenatal vitamins since my iron is always low) to stop bleeding if it shall occur. We also can't do what got us here in the first place, if you catch my drift, as the placenta could puncture and I could bleed - not a good thing. The doctor mentioned that some women, in more severe cases, are put on bedrest and may have to be in the hospital. All of this would suck, but I could handle it.

The next part, I was NOT ready to hear and ended up putting a little damper on my exciting day. He said that while RARE, at delivery time, if I am bleeding too much (for example if the placenta is cut into or just starts bleeding too much and they can't stop it) then I may have to have a hysterectomy. WHAT!?!?!?!? He said this is in about 20% of cases. Yes, it is a low percentage, but I was looking for even lower - to me in this type of scenario 20% is just too much. I held it together in the office not even thinking of crying. But when I called John, I kind of lost it. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely thankful to have been blessed with now 2 healthy boys (and I am glad that his one piece of 'not so great' news had no effect on the health of our little boy in my belly)....but John and I have always talked of having a big family - if it so happens that in the future we try whether it be naturally or through IVF and we are unsuccessful - so be it. However, to have the chance taken away because of a darn placenta that didn't go to its natural place, is sucky. But again, I am thankful for the family I have - these 2 boys are going to be so much fun together...and will probably give me a run for my money!

Anywho, I have talked to a couple of people that have had this before and theirs did all move by the time they delivered. My story may be slightly different since I have some scar tissue from my 1st c-section that the placenta may hang out with...I don't know. The internet, while a helpful tool can also be scary. Therefore, I have not looked up a ton of information, but what I did find was that 10% of women that have placenta previa at their 20 week ultrasound also have it when they deliver - so 90% don't. That is a pretty good percentage. One of my aunts had it while pregnant 30 years ago and while she bled through the entire pregnancy and was on bedrest, hers did move and she was able to deliver naturally. My mother-in-law is a retired nurse from the delivery unit and she said it is soooo rare and not to worry. So knowing that I will have another ultrasound in 2 months and am already planning on a c-section, I hope to be in good shape. Please do say a prayer that it does move away and I don't have to have any extra surgeries during my c-section.

Sorry for a little downer news, but I had to document it all. But all in all, we are having another BOY and couldn't be more excited!!! Now, coming up with a name....ugh, is the hard part. I don't think this baby will have a name nearly as fast as Logan did. :) Oh well - when we do think of it, I am sure it will be fitting. :)

He knows where he wants to go...

So this past week, Logan just wants to walk any chance he gets - with us holding onto his hands. His new thing as of 3 days ago is that he knows exactly where he wants to walk - which includes the ever impressive turning around. He did this to me a few times and last night while John and him were walking around, he did it to him. Chances are, if Buddy is eating, Logan wants to go stand next to him to watch. He will try to let go of our hands at this point to state that he is where he wants to be.....by the water bowl. No, no, Logan. So we turn him around only to have him lead us around the downstairs bathroom and back into the kitchen...next to Buddy. What a tricky little guy.

We try to let go of one hand and tease him with the other to get him to walk....sometimes this leads to him walking in circles, which can be humorous to an innocent bystander. To Logan this is frustrating and sometimes leads him to throw himself on the floor and cry for a minute. Again, humorous to John and I. Is it wrong to find it so funny when your 10 month old tries to throw a tantrum? Haha!!!

We practice walking with and without shoes since chances are when he learns to walk alone, it will be shoe-weather. He's getting it and it makes us happy and very proud of him - which he are certain to tell him as he's doing it. :)

10 months old

I can't believe it - Logan is 10 months old today! Oh how time sure does fly by! Here are many updates on our little boy at this age. My Mom and I were just discussing how much children change during their first year....I guess all these updates I am including prove that point!

So being as how it has been 2 months since new teeth popped through, guess what happened today? Another tooth! I tell you...this boy has an alarm clock for his teeth...to the day! At 6 month he got his bottom 2....8 months, his top two....now his lower left tooth next to his front two came in. Funny thing is, I can see that his upper 2 (to complete the set of 4) are SO close to coming in that I've been stalking his mouth for those 2 teeth this past week. I just happened to feel his lower gum line today (which I did the other day as well) and there it was - a jagged little tooth!

Also Logan has been walking SO much with us holding his hands. He walks well in bare feet as well as with shoes (he's had practice since the weather has been so chilly here). Recently he has even taken some steps when we are just holding one of his hands. However, he still doesn't stand on his own - anytime we try, he will stand for a second then fall down...so we need to work on his confidence there. Then again, he is only 10 months so he has plenty of time. :) I did, oddly enough, have a dream last night that we walked all on his own...and funny thing - my Mom did too! Same night! Now, in my dream Logan also learned how to potty train himself...yeah, that for sure won't happen in the next couple months! :)

Logan explores SO much! He loves to go in the laundry room and can be there within seconds if he hears that I open the door. The problem is that the water heater and furnace and all that 'bad' stuff is in there - and he likes to hit those objects. Needless to say, that door stays closed. He also is fascinated with the toilet and toilet paper. Needless to say, that door stays closed. He loves to climb the stairs - we are getting a gate soon for the bottom. If he is half way up and I start coming after him, he goes even faster and laughs - it is really funny! He likes to sit on the landing. Naturally, if we are on the stairs, so is the big dog, Buddy! So it gets kind of crowded! Logan also loves, loves, loves Buddy's water bowl. Since Buddy is a tall dog, his water bowl is in a stand....so Logan pulls himself up and splashes around. If Buddy is eating his food, Logan likes to stand right next to him and watch. Even Buddy, oddly enough, doesn't stalk Logan when he eats (I call Buddy over if something falls on the floor....and as soon as Logan is out of the chair, then Buddy comes over to clean up his chair-droppings). When Buddy is done, I put his bowl up - he probably doesn't think it is too fair, but I bring his water bowl down every so often or when Logan naps. Logan also loves to open up cabinets - of course, all the ones that contain breakables, cords or cleaning supplies. So, this week I will stock up on cabinet locks.

Logan's favorite toys are still his hammers - he has 2 - one that is green and one that is yellow and blue, but makes noises when you bang it or shake it. He also loves his house - when you open the door or the mailbox or the window, etc. it talks to you - pretty cool. His favorite stuffed animal is the Cat in the Hat - he smiles every time he sees it and will crawl very fast if you are playing with it across the room. He also takes a little squeaky duck around with him - I even have pictures of him sleeping with it in his fist...too cute!

He still goes to bed super easy - I pray that all our kids follow in his footsteps...and that it, for the most part, remains this easy going forward.

Lately he has taken to smacking his lips and 'blubbering' them - especially when he is getting tired or has just had a frustrated experience with a toy being stuck. If we leave the backdoor open for Buddy to run in and out, you can now bet that within 30 seconds, Logan will be outside too. I am sure Buddy cannot wait until Logan learns how to throw a ball for him to fetch.

He is still a good eater, however if whatever he's eating is on a spoon, chances are he is not going to eat a ton of it. However, give the child a blueberry pancake or other finger foods and he shovels it in as if it is going out of style! I think he enjoys feeding himself....but we are not at the point of using a utensil just yet.

He also has started to nod his head yes - he randomly does this in his high chair or while sitting and standing. We are thankful he has currently chose to nod his head yes, instead of shake his head no. :)

That is what I can think of off the top of my head!

John and I are excitedly planning his 1st birthday party. Since my cousin is getting married the weekend just after his actual birthday (the weekend of my birthday), we are celebrating his birthday with family and friends on Halloween! How exciting!

My Paranoia was set at ease!

To start, everything is just fine.

I posted a few weeks ago on exactly the 15 week marker that I felt the baby move - just a flutter, but still movement. Then around week 16 I felt another flutter or two....but then nothing since then. I checked back and with Logan I felt him for the first time at 15 weeks 3 days, however by week 17 I was feeling him move everyday and I already felt him kick. Now I know I shouldn't compare pregnancies, but because I already felt this baby move and then nothing since, I got worried. Here I was at 17weeks 5 days and not feeling any further movement let alone any kicking. So naturally I started to worry. I drank ice cold caffeine beverages then laid down to let the baby wiggle. I sat up...I prodded my stomach. All a few times during the day. Nothing. So naturally my mind starts going to the worst case scenarios.

Soooooooo...on Wednesday (17 weeks 6 days) I called my doctor's office. I decided that I wanted to hear the heartbeat. My ultrasound is next Friday, September 11th, however I couldn't wait that long to know that the baby is still A.O.K. Plus, I want to look forward to the ultrasound with much excitement and not worry.

After speaking with a nurse who told me it is not uncommon to not feel any movement and how busy they were with the holiday weekend approaching. I told her that I understood all that, but I needed to come in. The office closest to me squeezed me in...whew! They told me that I would need to pay a copay - who cares, I wanted to check on my baby! I got there after lunch and the doctor again mentioned that they usually aren't concerned about no movement until after 22 weeks. Humor me, doc....just check the baby's heart rate.

So the doctor held the doppler to my belly and right away, there it was...a beautiful heartbeat. I asked what the rate was, but this particular doppler didn't have a rate on there (hindsight I should've pushed for it since I was 'paying' for this visit). He guessed that the rate is around 140. Interesting...a little lower than before. Perhaps a boy. We'll see - 1 more week!!!!!

Just Hangin' Around

Yesterday we were at our friends house and Logan and Maddie (his friend) were having a snack. Maddie's sippy cup was on their kitchen table and Logan was trying to get it. He stood up and put his hands up on the table. In the meantime I was picking up a piece of food off the floor...and noticed swinging legs. Logan was trying to pull himself up and was doing a 'dead arm hang' on the kitchen table and swung back and forth 2 times! It was hilarious! He is so strong. I pulled him off, but I am curious how long he would've lasted!
