Doctor & A Pilot

A relaxing morning waiting for the construction guys to dig, dig, dig.  The boys thought I needed a checkup.   My temperature showed a sad face, so I was glad they caught it in time.

I was lucky that my treatment included getting my hair brushed (cuz it actually felt quite good & super relaxing). :)

In the meantime, Ryan cruised around with a pilot hat on.  The boys built this tower & Ryan walked around several times with pliers in hand, put a few pieces on & took one off but I was impressed that he never knocked it down.

Then he moved on to the trains with sound effects & all!

Ryan's Bedtime Books

After pj's & brushing teeth....this is the book regimen we follow.  Sometimes in no order, but often times it is something like this:

1) Go Dogs Go!  He likes the part best where we say "Stop dogs stop!  The light is red."  Because he puts his hand out & says "Stop!"

2) Pajama Time! - This was a favorite with all the boys.  We read it in a sing-song voice but stop to point out the colors of everybody's pajamas.  He also likes to say "shhhh" while holding his finger over his mouth.

3) The Belly Button book - he had quite an obsession with his belly button for quite some time, so it only seemed fitting to get him this book.

4) I Love You Through and Through - I know why each of the kids loved this book & honestly it is one of my favorites for sure.  It is short sentences, but as we go through it, it points out different parts of the body & emotions.  Ryan doing each & every party is quite cute & each time he does I tell myself that next time I will record him. Hasn't happened yet.

5) Perfect Piggies - he loves to hand me this book but only lately does he actually sit through the whole thing.

6) The Going to Bed Book - same thing; loves to hand it over but only recently has he cared to hear the whole thing.  I called this book the stall tactic for awhile.

7) Mickey Mouse Book - he loves to read this one but sometimes (& I don't complain ) he likes to skip to the end....it is kind of long comparatively...  Other times he does enjoy matching the picture to the button & hearing the sound. :)

8) Bedtime Prayers - we like to end our story session with a little prayer (besides the common one we taught the boys).

And there you have it!  If a book is forgotten, after I leave the room, he will open the door & just stick out the book & say sweetly...."book.  book.  book." until I come & read that book.  Other times he does that to re- read them.  Another stall tactic.

I do plan on switching out the books soon to mix it up a bit.  But I love that he loves books!!

Construction Time!

Our patio is being demo'd today!!

Everybody is watching!

Ryan is sawing the 'patio' that Logan built for him.

Carter dressed up!

Stealing bacon

Very sneaky.....

Park

The boys & I went to the park the other day & ol & behold....there were other kids there!  All boys!  Their ages!  What?!

A couple boys were misbehaving & their mom took them away.  Then one other boy was left & David walked up to Carter & asked him to play.  Carter said, sure.  Let's run!  They had so much fun!

Logan did an awesome job of hanging with Ryan when he went exploring. :)

Ryan spotted a bunny.  He proceeded to sneak up on it. The other boys caught wind of this action.

The group sneak....

After lots of playing, they rested.

Ryan did copy them but it didn't last long enough for me to capture...

Back home for a Popsicle break!

Random

Logan randomly grabbed the items on our counter & sorted them.

The DJ station is getting a workout lately. Maybe one of them will take after their father for a brief stint.

Splash Park!

Why don't I go to these more often?  They are free & lots of fun.  However, I did spend a lot of time dishing out snacks, water & holding a whiny Ryan.  He would go play, but then he'd want to come climb all over me.  Next year will be better.

So for the most part they filled buckets & such.  Carter didn't get very wet, nor did Ryan.  Linda loves water & liked to get Logan with buckets....and he's doing so much better with it!  By the end he was running (though it was busy so we kept having to tell them not to run) through sprinklers & all.   I'm so proud of him!!

Ryan is checking out the water system.

And getting right in there to play.

All 5 of them were standing there putting their feet on the jets, but by the time I got my camera Ryan walked away.  Of course.

You can't quite tell, but Logan is soaked. Even his hair is wet!!  Woohoo!!'

So to dry off, Linda & Logan laid out on their towels. :)

Drill practice!

He did a really good job at this game.  I put random colored screws in & we named the colors & then he drilled them all in & asked for more.

Park with Friends

Playing a fun lil game of squish the friends down the slide.

Ryan just chilled at this table with puppy.

Then they upper their game & slid thru the tunnel.  Eeks!

Sneaky

John fell asleep in the recliner.  Logan came over to me & whispered in my ear that he wanted to trick daddy by telling him he was late for work.  So I told him to go ahead.

He stood next to John like this for a good minute just giggling cuz he thought he was going to be soooo funny.

Well he did it & John mumbled that he didn't hVe to work today.  Logan got a kick out of it.

Brick Fun

If there is one toy that my kids all play with everyday....it is of course one that makes the biggest mess.... Bricks.  But they are very cool & the boys do stack them nicely against the wall when done.  Well, after being asked once or twice or thrice....

Here is their latest idea.  Combining bricks & tracks.

Sleep Walking

I got home from the gym & was cooling down right before I hopped in the shower.  I heard Carter whining in his sleep.   I muted the tv to hear if I should go in. He stopped.  I put the tv back on & moments later he comes stumbling down the hallway mumbling something about 'not finding it'.  I thought he meant Tao.  So I started walking back to his room with him & asked him what he was looking for.  He was still mumbling but then said "you know the chef that makes the (mumbled something). It's yummy".  Then he sucked his thumb & went back to sleep.

I went back to my room.  30 seconds later, he came back mumbling again.  We walked back, again.  And he said "I just want to catch a marshmallow and a half a piece of bread".

Okay....haha!....tossed & turned for a minute & asleep.

I was laughing at his comments.  The only thing I can think is that I love to watch the Pioneer Woman & we did make a snack off her show today, which included a half of an English muffin.... But no marshmallows.  And I suppose she is chef-like..

Anywho, cracked me up!

Oh funny

Recently the boys have accompanied me on a couple clothes shopping trips.  While looking at shirts, they noticed the super long hook in which you grab clothes from a top rack.

Carter got a shirt down.
Logan put it back up.
I said good job guys.
Logan said: Yep, I'm a great hooker!

Oh man I was laughing so hard.  Alone.

Here is my great hooker:

Random, Wrestling & a movie!

Caught Carter 'reading' a story by making it up.

Later all 3 boys busted out the car rug & crooner trains & cars.

And much later, they were goofing off & wrestling!

And afterwards to settle them down, we watched a movie.  Ryan picked 101 Dalmations because it had puppies on it. :).

He was really into it for a while in the beginning & end...we lost him for a bit in the middle.

Excited for fireworks tomorrow!!

Festive Fourth Crafts

Another holiday snuck up on us.... Logan wanted to do a craft.  To Pinterest we went .  We headed to the store to get a couple supplies & got to work. After we made our festive fruit, we went onto a firework craft.  A blob of paint & you blow into a straw...and poof!

Then we moved onto foam board:

It turned out pretty cool & they had fun!

Then we busted out the cookie cutters for stamps.  They started going & pretty soon I saw a flag being born!

I really like it!  I'll have to see where we'll hang it tomorrow!

......then..... This lil man wanted to paint.  Okay, fine.  I stepped in the kitchen & saw 2 dishes that had been soaking.  Not thinking, I washed them.  I came back in when I remembered a lil toddler with paint & found this:

I mean, it is washable paint....so not the end of the world, but aiyiyi....what a mess!  He managed to not let it get on his top though....so there's that....

Fun times & lots of fun memories!

Festive Fourth Fruit

Mmmm....  Not as good as dipped in chocolate, but festive & tasty for sure!

Zoo Day with Cousins

Yesterday we hit the zoo with the Madorma & Gaertig aunts & cousins.  Next time I think Grandma & Papa (newly retired) will have to join us!

On our way!  Snacks were opened in the parking lot.

We saw a bear above & underwater.  Crazy how in the pic his body is nowhere near his head.

Wherever we went, Ryan would say 'stinky PU!' And hold his nose. :)

Posing in signs!

One of about 15 pictures I took.  Almost everybody stayed the same in all pics.  Except for Ryan who was a wiggle worm (TJ did great trying to maintain a smile while holding this octopus).  And except for Carter who had MANY different poses....none of which had his arms down & his heD straight with eyes up in ANY of them.  Oh & then there's Logan who for the first 10 pics had a plain look on his face while holding a thumbs up....until I asked him to smile in which case he did this:

There were wagon races....

More crazy pictures...

The obligatory boat picture in the swamp...

Our tour guides checked their maps....

Ryan hung out with each of the Gaertigs...

We saw dolphins...

Measured the boys....

And Aunt Dawn got them each a mold-a-rama.....thanks Aunt Dawn!

What a fun day!!!!!
