Mothers Day

My Mother's Day was a nice one, despite a lil sadness.  It was Johns (& my first Mother's Day without his mom) & we learned that his Dad had his 3rd stroke in 6 weeks that morning. :(

The boys made me blueberry pancakes from scratch complete with Carter cracking the egg & John doing his darndest to retrieve all the broken egg shells!!  We then picked up Jersey Mikes subs & headed to a park to have a picnic & serious play time.    (We have more pics on the good camera)

Then thought was that we'd all go to Home Depot to pick out flowers for the house....but the 3 littles were starting to fall apart.  I went by myself, which allowed me time to hem & haw over a kinds of flowers & plants & veggies.  I picked up ice cream on the way home.  Yum!!!

My parents came up & John. & my dad & a lil of me helped make stuffed chicken Marsala.  It was delicious!  The guys had run to the store to get a few ingredients & all 3 boys had bonked heads at the same time & it was tearful & screamful....aiyiyi....  Next time my mom & I will go to the store. :)

It was a lovely visit with them & we are thankful they came up to us on this lovely holiday. :). (We do hope that someday we will live close enough to them so the hour drive is non-existent).

Logan wanted in:

Later in the evening.....just my first born. & I.

Oh how I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE being a Mom to these 3 handsome boys!!!!!!

Monkey Bars - Logan

(May 12)
He tried it once & did it!

Awesome job, Logan!!!!

Ryan playing

Ryan plays very well by himself & does lots of sound effects & motions as a typical boy does.

Oh this face!!!!  So cute & so his father. :)

You can see the sound effect action on his face.

Pet Store

Yesterday I watched Linda & Viv & also had Buddy scheduled for a bath cuz he still smelled skunky.  So we all went to pick him up.  The kids had fun looking at fish, birds, hamsters/mice & cats (ack).

Snug as a bug in a rug...

Good times at Grandma & Papa's!

The boys. & I had a sleepover at my parents house as John went up to WI to visit with his Dad who is very sick.

Carter helped make grilled cheese ( he is my special helper in the kitchen; I love it).

After dinner they got ice cream in the bathtub !!  There was confusion at first until Carter dripped a bit then realized you can quickly wash it off.  :). Ryan started by dipping his Popsicle in the water. Ew!  Thankfully they just got in there.

Ah!  Carter is a monster!

Then this morning I went to see why Ryan was so quiet....he was sleeping with his head touching my moms head on her bed.  So cute (mom, you can barely see you, so don't kill me for posting a pic of you sleeping). :)

Lexy's Concert

The boys & I were able to see Lexy's choir concert last night.  She sang beautifully!

The kid in front of her had his mop of hair in front of her face almost the entire time.  Thankfully he started swaying a lot so I could capture her.

Then the kids started getting just a tiny antsy & Ryan realized 1) that we can move & 2) that there was a drinking fountain.  He also looked at the ceiling & said 'wight' (light ) & then looked at the next ceiling tile & said. 'Pssshhhh' as there was a sprinkler.  I laughed because he was correct. :). So now thanks to every 5 second drinks from the fountain, here was our view for the last 3 songs.

Afterwards Ryan gave her a very Ryan-like hug:

Then Lexy showed them all her locker.  Cool stuff!

A fun night out!

My Carter

My friends & I hosted a garage sale this past weekend.  During our big time selling the kids played out back.  At one point my friend Sam walked back.  She said Carter was hard at work 'fixing' the water table.  As he worked he turned to Sam & said 'just go get me a snack'.  To her it was hilarious....to his mother, eh...I would rely appreciate those manners to be used all the time.  Thank goodness it was to one of my good friends & not some newbie.

Then a couple hours later another good friend, Kathy walked in.  Carter was laying on the floor with his hand in the air.  She asked him what was wrong.  He said 'my hand is dirty'.  She told him where he could grab a wipe or even to go wash his hands.  He proclaimed that he could not do it on his own.

We'll continue to work on those manners.

Today we were working on get well signs for Grandpa Battermann & Carter drew something & then said....<sigh>...I cannot finish, I'm just too tired & wazy (translation: lazy....still working on those l's).

Aiyiyi....I am starting to feel bad for his future wife! ;)

All in all, it is hard to not love a cute face like this....especially after he has been sweating & his hair has adorable curls.
 :)

Stop to smell the flowers

Okay, dandelions don't smell, but man what a cutie.  Vivie picked them for me & Ryan wanted to hold onto them. :)

Friends

I babysit Linda & Viv a couple times a week.  What is nice is that the kids all get along so well & have fun playing with each other....

Linda & Ryan really love to hang out with one another.

Bros

Oh so cute. :)

They later shared a picnic of pretzels on the yoga mat.

Outside

It was. 81 & sunny for a few minutes today.  We ( except Carter) put shorts on & spent time outside.  15 minutes later the sun was gone, it cooled off & thunder/ lightning were in the distance.  Ah well...we'll get em tomorrow!  Before we scampered from the rain inside, I snapped a few pics:

Carter tried out roller skating & enjoyed it.

And this pic was snapped right before he fell.  Hilarious shot ( he was fine ; no tears):

Ryan tried the skateboard.  Bad idea when he moved an inch.... You live, you learn. :/. I do want to point out that while Ryan's fall had everything to do with the brother behind him.... In fact, it did not.  Carter did not push him at all.  I mean, don't get me wrong, he clearly had every intention....but I stopped that thankfully before he caused it.  Then I walked away...how on earth did I think he was going to get down?  I guess here, I live I learn.

Let's move on to trying his 'new to him' scooter.  You see him screaming?  That is thanks to that same brother that is sitting back on his heels looking like he had absolutely nothing to do with that screaming.

Finally Ryan decided to take wagon full of chalk for a walk.  So gosh darn cute.

My Ryan

A messy, dirty little boy with crazy hair & scuffed shoes; have chalk in wagon....will travel.  It may be my new favorite picture of him.

Chocolate chip cookie

How do you eat yours?  Do you dip your fingers into each chocolate chip & lick your fingers?  Perhaps if they were freshly made you do....
