Cinco de Miler

John ran a 5-mile race with 2 of his running friends, Drew & Tami.  Naturally, his fan club tagged along.

Ryan wrestling a bit with Carter while we waited.  This was after they both played in the dirt a bit. :)

Ryan found it humorous to see himself in the phone doing a selfie.  This kept him happy.  And trust me....he wasn't the happiest fan club member most of this race.

And then we got some of the swag: churros with chocolate dip (& tostitos with salsa).  Ryan was naturally good during this part of the race. = )

Then he said forget the churro, I will just dip my fingers in the chocolate. What a messy cute kid!

Homemade Rocket Blaster!

KWe had to get a new hot water heater today....<sigh>....with that came a big box which was a train....but what was most creative was the bottom of the box. & foam rollers to protect some tubes.  Logan made this for Carter:

We found a worm in our home!!!

And I am thrilled to pieces that was said by the boys about a worm being on our backyard patio & not actually 'in' our home. I do love that they then all spent the next 10 minutes digging a hole for it. & watching it move. =)

Morning brother bonding

They all woke up at the exact same time (6:30).  In an effort to catch a few more zzzz's, we told them to grab the iPad.  I also had some graham crackers in my nightstand to help tie them over.

Fantastic Park

After a morning full of marathon craziness, we ate some tasty/unhealthy McDonalds....and crashed at the hotel for several hours.  Logan & I made a Starbucks & Buffalo Wild Wings run for an early dinner & then he headed out to a cool park that John found on the run.  It reminded of Fort Frankfort by my sisters house....but a bigger version.

At Johns marathon this weekend, we headed to the packet pickup area.  We were in the Activiry Center at U of I Champaign/Urbana.  We walked into the hallway of the men's locker room.  Carter turned around & said 'it really smells in here!!'

My nephew Michael had a sleepover last night.  Woohoo!

This morning while watching morning tv (on Nickelodeon mind you) a commercial comes on & Carter says to Michael - check it out!

Yes.  Girls in bikinis running on the beach. Seriously?!  I just got a few more gray hairs....  He is 4.  I kinda hope that maybe a cool toy commercial just ended as he said that....but after seeing the commercial a second time, I don't think the timing is right.  Aiyiyi....

Lil bro duties

Though Ryan now tries to get in the water during drop off/ pick up times at swim lessons, he was not the best student last year, so him & I now wait on the sidelines ( while John runs on the track upstairs).  So the lil bro waits while his big bros swim. 

There is another 2-year old boy that comes on Wesnesdays & they play trucks.  Here Ryan is super proud that he balanced his truck on the fence. :)

And sometimes we've ditched swimming for 5 minutes to watch Daddy run the track.

And sometimes....he literally hangs around....

He is very patient while waiting & is a good boy. :)

Me!

I snuck a Cheetos puff in after I ate my lunch.  Due to the crunchy bag...Ryan caught me despite my attempts to make it look like I was re-arranging & coughing.  He yelled out ME! ME!  As if I was picking him on a team or something.  Very cute though.  ( and he got some after he are more grilled cheese ).

We recently transferred Ryan to a toddler bed.  Today, though he made several attempts to break free, stayed in his room & fell asleep without me laying in there.  I cracked the door open to see if he was in his bed.  And this is where he was:
